Henry 5 months

My baby boy is 5 months old! I can't believe how quickly he is growing and changing. I feel like he very clearly communicates with me how he feels about things. He is mostly a chill little boy but when he wants something - he lets you know!

It was an eventful month for Henry. On his 4 month "birthday" it snowed pretty heavily and on his 5 month "birthday" he had an allergic reaction to penicillin. In between those he:

became a master of rolling over, therefore stopped being swaddled 11/25
started scooting on the floor,
tried out the doorway jumper,
started wearing size 4 diapers at night
got strep throat, therefore his first antibiotic, therefore his first allergic reaction

Henry is still fitting into 6-9 month clothes, but mostly on the 9 month side. Since he actually had a doctor appointment the day he turned 5 months old, I know that he weighs 17 pounds 15 ounces.

There's a new routine getting Henry to take a nap. I put him in a fleece sleep sack, snuggle his Simba lovey into his arm, give him a pacifier and pat his back while holding him. Works like a charm. My girls didn't really care for a lovey until they were a little older, but I noticed that Henry was always grabbing for my necklace when trying to fall asleep so I've been handing him the lovey instead and....well...he loves it =) I've also started laying him in the crib on his belly since he will turn himself over anyway and wake up in the process.

Henry has really seemed to figure out the 2 naps thing. He puts together 2 solid naps almost everyday. He's still waking up about twice every night. I'd love for that to get better.

Here is a roll of the pictures from this month:

Our little teddy bear =)

We love this little guy!

The girls had Parent's Night at ballet last week. It was so fun to get to go in and watch what they are learning. They are in different classes. Lucy's class is 2 and 3 year olds and Caroline's is 4 and 5 year olds. Their classes are back to back. Both of their classes have gymnastics component.

Lucy was so focused during her class. She did everything very well. They started with "When the Saints go Marching in."

I love these toes pointed out and her face shows her focus.

This was probably my favorite part. The girls got in a clump on one side of the room and then Lucy led them as they shuffled sideways across the room - I'm sure there is a fancy dance term for what they did. They were all concentrating very hard.

Doing her jumps

During the gymnastics portion, they did somersaults, jumping, rolling, a bear crawl and an alligator crawl.

Caroline's class was next. The class was structured similarly. It is 15 minutes longer. They had a few more ballet moves they did (which I don't know the names for) and they used the ballet bar. Lucy has since told me that the bar in the handicap bathroom stall at stores is a "ballet bar".

These girls LOVE ballet. Seriously the love it!
