I'm so proud of our little fish. The girls have been doing year-round swim this year. They are both soo close to qualifying in the breast and butterfly strokes. Last week they did a swim-athon and swam laps for an hour. Caroline swam 50 laps. Lucy entertained everyone in her lane and swam 16. Together they swam 66 laps which is a little more than a mile! Go Tigersharks!

Am I a Gatherer? or a Scatterer?

Matt 12:30 "Whoever is not with me is against me,

Am I against God?

No Way! Not even close. I am WAY on His side. Like nailed that down years ago, read the Bible, pray everyday totally on His side. I am WAY with God.

(Give a little pat on the back and keep on reading cause this does not apply to me. Zero conviction.)

and whoever does not gather with me scatters."

Do I gather people together or scatter them?

And that's the part that hurts. Mostly I gather. I encourage. But then I make that snide remark about that girl we both know. She does things different. With her children. With her house. With her appearance. With her money. Not the way I would do it. I point out her mistakes - it's ok cause everyone already knows. I'm not announcing new information. It's not like it's gossip.

And it scatters.

The words, facial expressions, motions I have made in that quick moment will sit with the people I spoke them to. Those words may cause them to evaluate the girl or even themselves or even each other.

I want to be a gatherer - bringing people together not scattering them against each other.

"Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear." Eph 4:29

"Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips!" Psalm 141:3

"For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks." Matt 12:34b

"I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak, for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned." Matt 12:36-37
